Another CTA Bus Shooting Kills Teen
Kiyanna Salters, 17, was killed in a shooting on a No. 71 bus Sunday night. The incident happened around 10 p.m. as the bus approached the intersection of Cottage Grove and 71st Street. A man on the bus got into an argument with another passenger before exiting the bus. Shortly after exiting the bus, the man opened fire into the bus before fleeing the scene. Kiyanna was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after 10:30 p.m. She was a student at Julian High School, the same school that Blair Holt, the 16-year-old shot onboard a CTA bus in May 2007, attended. Police still are not sure whether or not Kiyanna was the intended target.

Weekend Violence UPDATES: At Least Five Dead

Two men are injured, one critically, after a Sunday afternoon shooting near Douglass Park in the West Side’s Lawndale neighborhood.
The victims were shot in the 1500 block of South Christiana Ave. about 4:30 p.m.
A 24-year-old is in “critical” condition in Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head and a 21-year-old is in “good” condition at Mount Sinai with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Harrison Area detectives are investigating. Police have no suspects and no clues
•A PEDESTRIAN WAS SHOT in the ankle while walking down a South Side street Saturday night.
The shooting occurred at 7:44 p.m. in the 100 block of West 109th Place, according to police News Affairs.
A 22-year-old man was walking down the street when he passed two men on the sidewalk, police said. The man told police he heard shots and realized he had been shot in the ankle.
The victim is Roseland Community Hospital in “good” condition, police said. They have no suspects and no motives. Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
•LARRY MITCHELL IS DEAD. Police are investigating the death of the 60-year-old West Side man, found with apparent head injuries early Saturday in his home.
CHICAGO -- The Cook County Medical Examiner's says two men found dead in a residence on Chicago's far southeast side both suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said the bodies of the two were found Sunday night by family members who went to the residence near Avenue M and East 103rd Street.
Officer David Banks of the Chicago Police news Affairs office says one of the victims was a 22-year-old Hispanic and the other was a 21-year-old black man.
Their identities were not immediately released.

So thats 8 Dead for sure this weekend with a couple shot in the head but holding on. Chicago doesn't have to worry about turning into Detroit I think we are worse off.

Someone recently got shot in an apparent botched robbery in my neighborhood. The victim is paralyzed. The shooter is still presumably free to terrorize and maim others:
