Do This!: Blue Sky Bakery and Café's Seasonal Pie Tasting

2008_11_blueskyinn_bakery.pngWe've written about Blue Sky Inn (including an interview with Executive Director Lisa Thompson) before. The bakery and cafe they run in Albany Park (4749 N. Albany, 773-478-2233) is part of the non-profit organization's mission to provide job training to at-risk youth. It's also a great-looking storefront.

Blue Sky Bakery and Cafe is hosting a seasonal pie tasting from noon-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For only $5, you'll have an opportunity to sample four different pies and wash it down with coffee, tea or apple cider. We're told that one of the pies being prepared for the event is a rich pumpkin cheesecake. It's a great way to show support for Blue Sky Inn and get a light nosh on.

I bet that's where AlbanyParkour can be found pontificating on most matters both grave and small

I went to this today. The place is cute and the cause is noble, but the pie was not very good.
