The Supreme Court made no announcement today whether or not it will hear Donofrio v. Wells, the lawsuit challenging the election based on Barack Obama's release - or alleged lack thereof - of his official birth certificate and his citizenship status. (The court did decide to hear two cases, one of which is the case of Ali Saleh Kahlah al-Marri, an Al Qaeda combatant seized on American soil.) Of course, there's no guarantee the Court will ever actually issue any statement on the Obama case since it was simply petitioned to the court and, along with hundreds of other cases, could be dismissed without any comment at all. But as Frank James, over at The Swamp, says, "the lack of an announcement doesn't mean the court definitely won't hear Donofrio." So either we will or we won't. Hmm.
Meanwhile, our comrades at our sister site DCist scoped out a protest held by supporters of the Donofrio cause at the Supreme Court this morning led by Roger Bredow, who claims Obama has duel citizenship.
The Supreme Court will announce whether it will actually consider the Obama lawsuit as early as today and as late as Monday. If (as expected) the Court tosses the suit, Bredow will start challenging Obama's legitimacy based on "foreign money that went into his campaign." Other protestors said they'd start contacting members of the Electoral College. Steve Brindle, who drove down from Pennsylvania, said he'd called his senators yesterday.Of course, only 15 to 20 people showed so...yeah."There aren't a lot of people out here today," said Brindle. "There are a lot of people talking about this back home. Really, everyone's asking questions."
Either way, nothing will ever outweigh the rage we felt this morning when we read that Obama has allegedly chosen a Zune over an iPod. We're whipping up a petition as we speak and expect a protest very, very soon.

This is what shows that the lawsuit was never intended to "uphold the constitution." It was designed because this guy doesn't like the nation's choice for our next President.

The Framers of the Constitution were protecting us from anyone serving as the President of the US from having alligience to any other country. Natural born is simply a child born of two US Citizens (naturalized or natural born), without any allegiance to any other nation (dual citizenship).
Just from a simple logical standpoint.
Let's say Mohamed Atta (9/11 attacker) impregnated an american women (US Citizen) while he was in our country planning the attacks. The child would be a US Citizen, however would you want this child to have the right to be the President of our Country?
This issue is much bigger than Obama and could have far reaching consequences to our country.

And since when is a child responsible for the crimes of his father? You have no idea what Atta's fictional child could have been like. He could have grown up and been disgusted by his father's action. You can't just decide that people should not be legally eligible for public office based on the actions of their parents. That's why we have elections - to allow the people to decide who they believe is fit for office.

Britain could pass a law tomorrow conferring British citizenship, retroactively, to everyone born in the US. There is nothing we could do to stop them from doing this. Therefore all US Born Citizen would have dual citizenship and NO ONE would be eligible to be president. The fact is, British law is irrelevant to how his US Citizenship was conferred, which was by right of birth.
And in response to your example, yes, Atta's kid would be Natural Born and eligible to be POTUS. My personal opinion of it is irrelevant. That's why America rocks!

These are all terms which are wide open that are left to the legislative branch to work with and the Supreme Court to interpret. There are ground rules, but they can be expanded and restricted as necessary. That's the genius of the constitution.
Point is, there is nothing definite about the constitution. These words can mean however Congress wants to construe them within reason.
But why am I even bringing this up? Obama was born in Hawaii. Hawaii is a state, hence he was born on US soil and he happens to be the son of a parent who was born a citizen of the US. Another fact is that conspiracy theorists are full of shit.
