Following in Blago's footsteps, Burris is taking the first steps to getting a memoir published, according to the Sun-Times' super sleuth Michael Sneed. Because Burris obviously has nothing going on and has plenty of time to write a book. Sneed says Burris has retained Lloyd Jassin to help him pitch the book, which Jassin says, "It is temporarily being called The Empty Seat." Jassin added, "I don't know of too many politicians who have written their memoirs under such trying conditions, in the midst of a political maelstrom, with none of the issues finally decided or the outcome really known."
Heaven forbid he should be focused on his job.

What publisher is stupid enough to try to flog this loser's book on to the public?
No one will buy it except the for a half dozen copies by reporters who will then summarize it in one paragraph.
Then the other 100 copies will end up at some dollar store where they will sit until their price is reduce to 1ยข each.
Those copies will be used for toilet paper in the woods!
"Heaven forbid he should be focused on his job."
As if we needed any more proof that his desire for the senate seat was based on wanting to add the title Senator to his mausoleum and not so much based on actually wanting to do the work of the people by legislating.
Gotta give the guy credit. He now gets to add publised author and U.S. Senator to his crypt, which by day doubles as the Southside Office of the Chicagoist.
"breaking news" on the tribune site:
"The U.S. Attorney's Office in Chicago said it will hold a press conference at 2 p.m. today to announce public corruption charges. Sources say it is expected to be an indictment of an elected official."
Will Sen. Burris get to add another accomplishment to his list today?
Yeah, just saw that. Wow.
It says elected official. Burris wasn't exactly elected. I am hoping its Stroger.
Stroger wasn't elected either.
He was elected, believe it or not. After his father corwned him, there was a county wide election and supposedly, we elected him. He ran against Peraica.
No it's Ald. Ike Carothers according to a later Chicagoist post.
