An update on yesterday's strange story of a mother leaving her baby on a Metra Train, via NBC 5. It seems the woman had another child, a 3 year old toddler, with her and that child bolted off the train as soon as the doors opened. The mother chased after that child and the train moved out of the station before the woman could get back on and pull the stroller, with the 10 month old baby, off the train.

Okay, now this makes sense.
I mean, I can understand a parent pulling some pretty bonehead moves (I know I pulled my own fair share of them). I can see how a parent could forget a child in a car seat--especially if it's a shift in routine--as the car seat is behind the parent, out of sight. But for the life of me I couldn't figure out the physical process of how a parent could forget a child on a train, sitting right there next to them in constant visual sight. But when you have a toddler running wild and vanishing in a public place, you don't really have time to sort out which of the many priorities you should focus on.
I though they had those baby leashes for situations just like this?
Thank goodness NBC 5 was able to correct the misreporting of CBS 2. My faith in TV news stations hard-hitting reporting has remained intact, and I can continue to dance with Rob and Zoraida each Friday morning.
Rob, Zoraida, and stupid Matt the traffic guy have made NBC's morning show completely intolerable for me, especially when they pull stupid crap like their Friday dance. They always seem so self-conscious with it, as if they're saying, "Hey! Look at us! We're being wacky!"
WGN's Friday Dance beats the pants off NBC's any day.
Won't somebody please think of the children?!?!
Damn kids.
The toddler, not the dancing anchormen.
