Hope-enhagen - Oprah, Michelle Obama Arrive

If the series of delegates visiting Copenhagen on behalf of Chicago 2016 were like a concert bill crica 1986, then yesterday's arrival of the first contingent would be White Snake and President Obama's headlining appearance would be like Bon Jovi or Poison. Which makes today's arrival of First Lady Michelle Obama and Oprah like...Cinderella? The pair of ladies joined the rest of Chicago 2016 today in Copenhagen to continue the wooing process.

Even though I completely disagree with their stance, there is something really cool about the three "big name" Americans repping our nation are all African-Americans. Could anyone have imagined that 50 years ago? 40 even?

All issues aside, that's a pretty cool thing.

I think a lot of folks imagined it 40/50 years ago and their worst nightmares have come true.

It is a cool thing.

I could have imagined it. Amerikkka has alway used negroes to advance policies and laws that harm other poor and working class Black people ;-)

Look beyond color. They are are people who've be co-opted, or rose, from the Machine.

This isn't real progress. Only the appearance of progress. Maybe that's something, I guess, but not really all that much.

Besides, this is much more about rich/poor than black/white. Always has been in America.

Your discussion of race relations has made me conflicted in thinking that Marcus' hair band hierarchy ranking is even cooler.

No, hair bands are pretty bad ass.

Though I think President Obama is clearly Motley Crue. Cause nothing stops the Crue...NOTHING.

The name, now, needs to be changed to Opralympics.

"Marcus' hair band hierarchy," whaaaaa?
