Half Acre's Retail Store Up and Running

Back when we visited Half Acre's Lincoln Square brewery in April, one of the construction projects still in progress was the buildout of a retail space. Gabriel Magliaro's plans were to have an in-wall draft system featuring Half Acre selections, special brews and guest beers; bottles and merchandise.

Earlier this month, Half Acre opened up the now complete retail operation. Magliaro and company are offering tours of the brewery at 5 p.m. Fridays and throughout the day Saturday. We also purchased a growler of "Buckingham Green," an amber session ale, for $12. Half Acre is using 2-liter Ball jars as their growlers, which will be great for canning or pickling later.

Oooooh, growlers. It's a good thing I don't live closer.

Any word if they'll be accepting returns of the Bell jars from those of us who don't do a lot of canning or pickling, maybe for a dollar off our next growler? Just an idea.

Absolutely!! They told me you'll get 2$ off!!!

Happy recycling!

I live in that area and checked it out last week. It's cool but I wish you could at least chill there and have a beer. There are not enough actual brew pubs in the city.
