It was only a couple weeks ago that Big Star was announced as the name of the Paul Kahan taco joint in the old Pontiac Café space. Now there's a firm opening date: November 9.
This photo was taken by Kahan's publicist and posted to Twitter Saturday, where it promptly blew up like all good viral marketing and PR. We were too far into a meat coma to deal with it then.

They're gonna have to bust theyr butt to make that date. I peeked behind the tarps yesterday and while the interior is coming along nicely it all still looks pretty rough.
I was having dinner at Caoba last night and couldn't help thinking that Big Star is really going to go head-to-head with them.
They are starting their new employees' training today, so maybe they'll use all of those extra hands to get everything in gear.
Oooor, maybe they'll all just spend most of their time doing whiskey/tequila/taco tastings. It could go either way.
