2009_11_Van_Twee.jpg Get this beer while you can. Van Twee is the long-awaited collaboration between De Proef and Bell's breweries. MAde by De Proef's Dirk Naudts and Bell's John Mallet, Van Twee is a porter-dubbel hybrid, with Michigan sour cherry juice and brettanomyces in the secondary fermentation.

The taste profile of Van Twee also includes hints of chocolate and coffee which, combined with the cherry juice and brett yeast is intended to remind the drinker of Belgian chocolates, albeit one at 7.5%ABV. Van Twee Retails for $16.99 per 750 ml bottle. It's also available in 20 liter kegs. Wes Phillps from Windy City Distribution e-mailed that, as of now, Hopleaf is the only bar in town that has Van Twee on draft.
