It's grilling season, which means that ribs are on the menu, whether you like them directly over an open flame or low and slow. A good rub can go a long way to giving your ribs a good foundation for added flavor. We grilled some for our father for Father's Day using a simple rub that is easy to mix and store, if you have any extra.

Baby Back Rib Rub

2 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon pepper
1 tablespoon ground mustard
1 tablespoon cocoa chili powder
1 tablespoon cumin
2 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon oregano
1 tablespoon ancho chili powder

Rub two to three slabs of ribs at least 24 hours prior to grilling. Make sure to bring your meat to room temperature before throwing on the grill or in the smoker.
