Blackhawks 4, Flames 2: The Blackhawks avenged their worst loss of the season last night, but at a big expense. Patrick Kane suffered a left leg injury during the first shift of the game and did not return. Kane tried to avoid a check into the boards by Calgary's Cory Sarich, whose stick became caught between Kane's legs, forcing his left leg to twist awkwardly. Kane was helped off the ice into the dressing room. The extent of the injury isn't known but Kane couldn't put any weight on his leg.
The game went on as Dave Bolland scored two goals, Jonathan Toews scored a goal and an assist while Bryan Bickell also scored for the Hawks. All four Hawks goals were on the power play and Brent Seabrook had three assists.
Jarome Iginla and Anton Babchuk had first-period power play goals for the Flames but the Hawks held on tight to help rookie goaltender Corey Crawford to his sixth consecutive win. Crawford started for the fourth time in five games and saved 24 of 26 shots on goal.
Sunday's victory improved the Hawks' home record to 7-8-0 and 15-12-2 overall.
Since joining the Blackhawks in 2007, Kane has only missed two games. Marian Hossa remains sidelined, missing his third game with a lower body injury and Fernando Pisani missed his fourth game due to an upper body injury.
