Ebert To Reveal Co-Host This Sunday?

2010_12_14_ebert_at_the_movies.jpg Could we be getting closer to finding out who will be co-hosting Roger Ebert Presents At the Movies?

Ebert and his wife Chaz will be appearing on CBS News Sunday Morning this weekend, and odds are they they'll be talking about the forthcoming show. It's due to premier January 21 and will be shown on more than 190 public television stations as well as the Armed Forces Network.

Elvis Mitchell had been set to co-host with AP movie critic Christy Lemire, but was dropped for reasons that remain unclear (one article claims it was due to lack of chemistry, something Ebert denies.) The Sun-Times teases us with the following nugget:

One dark horse candidate believed to be under consideration is a young male in his mid-20s with little or no experience as a movie critic or as a TV talent. Another possible option, sources said, would involve a pairing of Lemire with another critic described as a female version of tart-tongued former American Idol judge Simon Cowell.

We'd love to see a younger face on the show--frankly, a "tart-tongued" talent show judge-type leaves us cold. Looks like we'd better tune in this Sunday to find out; the show airs at 8 a.m. on CBS-owned WBBM-Channel 2.
