Tuesday Afternoon Diversion: John Drummond Feels Like He's on the Fo'c'sle of a Tramp Steamer
This should bring back some bad memories for those of you who remember the hangover of the post-Super Bowl XX years. Here's John Drummond after the Washington Redskins knocked out the Bears in an NFC divisional playoff game from January 1988. This game, wound up being Walter Payton's final game as a Bear. He, unlike the rest of the team, went down fighting.
The video is notable for both the unbridled "wait 'til next year" optimism of Bears fans afterward, and they way they crowded Drummond to the point where he uttered his greatest line on television. It probably didn't help that Drummond was wearing Redskins colors that day, either.
