Sergiu Muresan, who was charged in December with tossing a puppy from his car along a busy intersection in Elmhurst, received a metaphorical slap on the wrist after pleading guilty to animal cruelty in the incident. Muresan received a $100 fine and was ordered to not own or possess any pets for a year.

The big kicker to this story? The puppy Muresan tossed from his car wasn't even his. Bently the puppy belonged to someone else; the two were later reunited after Bently was rescued from the intersection. Muresan found the dog wandering around after he slipped under a fence.

We're going to go take deep breaths now.
