Former Chicagoist EIC Marcus Gilmer expresses his shock at the house's asking price.
Cue up "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" and call up the Wettest Bandits you know - the Winnetka home from the blockbuster 1990 film "Home Alone" is up for sale.

According to WGNRadio, owners John and Cynthia Abendshien are asking 2.4 million dollars for the famed Winnetka residence, which will get you 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and one of the most famous houses in the area - but no word if that creepy-as-shit furnace actually resides in the basement. (Guessing "no.")

Hooked on Houses and AOL Real Estate both have extensive breakdowns of the film version of the house as well as some shots from inside the actual residence, which will be the closest you'll get if you don't plan on becoming a pre-qualified buyer. No open houses are planned for the residence, so unless you've got the cash to back it up, no test sled-runs down those front stairs are be in your future.

As a side note, we wonder how many plain cheese pizzas have been sent to this place over the years.
