Daley to Announce U of C Appointment This Morning

Former Mayor Richard Daley is expected to hold a press conference at 10 a.m. to announce his appointment at the University of Chicago "to help foster policy discussions at the University’s Harris School of Public Policy Studies."

Daley had mentioned in the weeks leading up to his retirement from public office that he was interested in teaching about urban policy and government. A statement released by U of C indicated that Daley will be doing just that. Maybe Daley can teach a course on short-changing your city's future through privatization and ham-fisted autocracy.

Daley signed with the Harry Walker Agency in February with the intention of lining up public speaking engagements. He'll need all the money he can get to supplement the $184,000 annual pension he started collecting last week.
