December is shaping up to be "Treat Your Dog Like Shit" month. A man in East Pilsen was arrested yesterday after he became so angry with his dog for urinating on the kitchen floor he threw boiling water on the pooch.

Kyle Voissem was boiling water to make macaroni and cheese when he saw his dog micturating on the floor. Voissem's dog suffered severe burns to its head and torso. Animal Care and Control officials wouldn't say where the dog is now located.

It's the second incident of cruelty to dogs in the news in the past week. Lashon Parks was charged with cruelty to animals last week after she abandoned her terrier mix, which was later found being beaten by neighborhood kids with sticks.

[UPDATE}: CBS Chicago reports Voissem is a criminal justice major at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He's also a member of the men's gymnastics team.
