Drunk Driver In Will County Takes A Priceless Mugshot

Andrei Bibbs (Will County Sheriif's Office)

Here is a mugshot that will spawn scores of Twitter avatars. Blue Island resident Andrei Bibbs was booked by Will County Sheriff's authorities Saturday of driving under the influence. This five-second pose (for the benefit of those with flash photography) begs the question: Under the influence of what?

Not much is known about Bibbs, other than he's unemployed. Bond for Bibbs has been set at $2,000 and a court date for his DUI charge is set for Jan. 30. We say, if he wants to raise some spending cash, he should sell autographed copies of the mugshot.

Mug shot of guy making a face in Will County, Illinois. Who cares.
This is another non event. And once again cross posting it drags Gothamist down even further.

  • Maybe he's reacting to the Hostess bankruptcy -- "what, no more Twinkies!!"...

    so much more than "cheeeese".

    It's Donald Sutherland.

No.  No it most certainly does not "beg the question."
    Jeez.

Here's wikipedia explaining what that phrase means.

    Please try harder at writing.

  • And this dude is the Editor!  We're doomed.

I agree with you, and it pains me to hear when people use it incorrectly (which is every time I hear it now). But unfortunately, language is always evolving, and even stupid people have some control over that. The day I knew it was truly over was when I heard Conan O'Brien use it incorrectly.

  • I still fight it, even though it's almost certainly a lost cause, because there are a zillion succinct expressions that mean the same thing as "raises the question" -- misusing "begs the question" in that fashion is unnecessary.  But meanwhile, there is *no* other succinct expression equivalent to what "begs the question" really means.  If "begs the question" is repurposed this way, then when you want to express that concept, you've gotta write a friggin' paragraph to do it.

  • Thanks.  I was just about to post a similar reply.  Pet peeve of mine.

In an effort to speed up the booking process, the Will County deputies will perform the body cavity search at the same time as pictures are taken.

It is obvious, Will County Sheriff's staff mug photographer is Elvis Presley.
