Bruce Springsteen announced the track listing to his upcoming album Wrecking Ball today. If the new single "We Take Care of Our Own"— even though Springsteen name checks Chicago in the lyrics—is any indication, this Chicagoisto will still be missing the boat on "The Boss." Sorry, Springsteen isn't my cup of tea.

The Sun-Times is citing sources in reporting that Springsteen will bring the expected tour behind Wrecking Ball to Wrigley Field in September. The ticket scalping service Empire Tickets already has a Sep. 8 date for Bruce's rumored concert listed, but tickets are not on sale. Cubs Vice President of Ballpark Operations Carl Rice wouldn't confirm a Springsteen show with the Sun-Times. If there is a Springsteen concert at Wrigley Field for September, it would be the second major concert at the Friendly Confines this year. Roger Waters previously announced he would bring a tour of The Wall to Wrigley in June.

Springsteen's current touring schedule has him in Europe with the E Street Band through May. Below is the video of the new single.

  • The last album kinda blew. But The Rising was great, if we're talking about 21st Century Boss. Beyond that? Fantastic. I wouldn't go because 1) ticket prices will be steeeeeeeeep and 2) I won't make it through the show without wanting to punch another attendee. That said, this is awesome, the boss is awesome, NEBRASKA is one of the greatest albums ever made, and yeah. That's it.

You actually avoid events where you might want to punch someone? Jesus, I would not go to work, buy groceries, or do most things under those conditions. Hell, I wouldn't be able to sit alone at a bar half the time.

  • Man, wait until he launches into "Glory Days" ...

  • Mark McDermott

Well, Billy Joel, the Police and Jimmy Buffet can sell out Wrigley Field. But that's, like the Cubs, they hadn't produced a decent string of hits in 20 years.
