Extended Ferris Bueller Super Bowl Ad Released

By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Jan 30, 2012 4:00PM

There's a small group of people who believe Ferris Bueller didn't get the ass-kicking from his parents he deserved at the end of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Now that we know Matthew Broderick is reprising his iconic role in a commercial for Honda to air during the Super Bowl, maybe Ferris is finally getting the comeuppance that avoided him a quarter-century ago.

With interest in the Broderick-as-Bueller commercial peaking, Honda decided to release the full commercial a week early. It shows Broderick playing hooky from a movie shoot and tooling around Los Angeles in his Honda CR-V, trying to avoid his agent along the way. A hotel parking valet gets to riff on Ben Stein's classic "Bueller... Bueller" line from the movie while another parking valet takes the Honda out on a joy ride reminiscent of the similar scene from Day Off. This commercial has easily become the most talked about ad for Super Bowl Sunday and we're still a week away from the game.

Here is the full commercial.
