Andre Curry, who made national headlines when he posted photos on Facebook of his daughter's face, wrists and ankles bound by tape, has been released on bond after pleading not guilty to charges of child abuse, unlawful restraint and aggravated domestic battery.

Curry was released after a judge agreed to lower his bail to $30,000. Curry's family was able to get together the 10 percent necessary to meet his bail, and he was released shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday.

Curry thanked members of the Life Center Church of God in Christ after he was released. Pastor Torrey Barrett visited Curry while he was in jail and helped spur a letter campaign for his release that garnered over 450 signatures.

Curry told NBC 5 in Chicago.

"You are part of the reason I am free today. I praise you. I promise I will do everything in my power to bring youth to Christ.”

Yesmin Doss, the mother of Curry's daughter, also spoke to NBC 5 and said the photo that led to the charges was intended as a joke and that Curry would never hurt their daughter.

"He's been called a monster and stuff and Dre's just a great guy. He's just a great, a great father."

Doss said she and Curry were together for five years and describes him as an attentive father who loves to spoil his child.
