Rosie O'Donnell's love affair with Chicago continues to show signs it may be unrequited. In addition to the circling of the wagons at her beleaguered show at HARPO Studios, the Tribune is confirming previous reports the Lakeview home she purchased is back on the market.

O'Donnell bought the 6,000 square-foot home from a OWN network staffer less than six months ago for $2.5 million, including the furniture in the home. An O'Donnell spokeswoman said the home isn't listed with a broker and that Rosie is open to offers.

Condi Berger, O'Donnell's publicist, said her client bought the property "impulsively." (We've made impulse purchases in the past, but never a home.)

"She bought a house because she felt that she wanted the kids to have a backyard and to live in a neighborhood. But the kids only come on the weekends -- she doesn't need that big house."

O'Donnell had originally believed she would be able to move her family to Chicago, but with homes in Miami and New York, Berger said Rosie "wanted (the kids) to remain in school back east."
