Reactions To Derrick Rose's Injury, From Heartfelt To Hilarious

By Samantha Abernethy in News on May 1, 2012 4:00PM

Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance... it's an emotional time for Bulls fans. Is it too soon to joke about Derrick Rose's season-ending injury? Well, if we couldn't laugh we'd have to cry... and most of us have already cried, right? The way people have been acting, you'd think there weren't another game at all. Yes, there's one tonight, broadcast on CSN and TNT. But ESPN has already decided to bump Game 3 down from ESPN to ESPN2.

Scottie Pippen wrote a heartfelt letter as a peptalk for Bulls fans.

Just go out there and play hard. Play your best. Leave everything you’ve got on the floor. Yes, you lost one of your brothers—a warrior in every sense of the word—but I know and you know you’ve still got a lot of fight left. You’re still the best team in the NBA until an opponent proves otherwise. So go out there and play like it. You’ve earned that much with Derrick along the way, but you also won a lot of games without him. It’s time to meet the challenge.

Wishing you all the best of luck on a long postseason run.
