R. Kelly Too Busy Spendin' Money To Pay Taxes

New Jack Swing pioneer and noted water sports enthusiast R. Kelly once sang "Money Makes the World Go 'Round," but he's apparently been too busy "Spendin' Money" and now finds himself staring at a $4.8 million tax bill from the IRS.
Kells simply stopped paying taxes in 2005, which is great in theory but not very practical in the real world. Here's the breakdown of what he owes, per TMZ.
2005 - $1,472,366.77
2006 - $710,520.51
2007 - $376,180.11
2008 - $1,122,694.90
2009 - $173,815.18
2010 - $992,495.24
This is the latest in a series of financial woes for the Pied Piper. Kelly put his suburban Chicago mansion on the market in December 2011. That mansion was also the subject of a foreclosure suit where Kelly decided to stop paying the mortgage on the home in an attempt to have it renegotiated. (Again, great in theory, but not practical.) Now we can see extra motivation for Kelly wanting to find backing for the 32 new chapters of his "hip-hopera" "Trapped in the Closet," which IFC graciously provided.
A rep for Kelly said the singer is "in the process of working everything out with the government and is confident that all his obligations will be satisfied."
