Buddy Guy will receive the Kennedy Center honors alongside Led Zeppelin, Dustin Hoffman, David Letterman and ballerina Natalia Makarova.

"With their extraordinary talent, creativity and tenacity, the seven 2012 Kennedy Center Honorees have contributed significantly to the cultural life of our nation and the world," said Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein. "Buddy Guy is a titan of the blues and has been a tremendous influence on virtually everyone who has picked up an electric guitar in the last half century."

The President and Mrs. Obama will receive the honorees at the White House prior to the gala performance, then the honorees will accept their medallions at a dinner hosted by Sec. of State Hillary Clinton and perform at the Kennedy Center Honors Gala.

Guy performed at the White House earlier this year as part of In Performance in the White House: Red, White and Blues, and Pres. Obama joined Guy, B.B. King and Mick Jagger in singing "Sweet Home Chicago." Let's hope Obama joins him for an encore.
