Aleman Brewing Turns to Kickstarter

While Aleman isn’t the first Chicago brewery to turn to Kickstarter (see Pipeworks and Begyle, to name just two), they are a group of local brewers who need a little financial help to realize their dream.

The lovechild of Chris Aldrich, Jim Moorehouse, Josh Bearry, Nate Albrecht and Brad Zeller, Aleman (aka Heavy Hand Brewing) won the 2012 Iron Brew competition with their Dayman Coffee IPA. Dayman, which is being brewed with Stone Brewing and Two Brothers Brewing, is set for release in spring of 2013, right around the time that the Aleman brewpub is slated to open.

With less than 10 hours left to reach their $25,000 goal, the Aleman Kickstarter is struggling. Unfortunately, without capital their dream of opening their pub, a concept they describe as something in between a German beer hall and a Mexican tequila bar, will remain just a dream.

Help them reach their goal here, and if you’re feeling very generous you may even earn yourself a limo ride to Medieval Times to eat mutton chops with the Aleman family, just for supporting what is sure to be some tasty local brew.
