Friday Afternoon Diversion: Turbonegro Gives Us Worms

Turbonegro are not the most politically correct of bands. Wait, that's a massive understatement. They make Gwar look like a bunch of well adjusted college graduates. That's a better statement. The masterful thing about this group of Norweigian metal / punk / pop rockers is that they take even the most outlandish lyrical aerobatics, wrap them in a mixture of charging power chords and fuel them with melodies that instantly induce fist pumpin singing along and even your grandmother couldn't resist though she might blush at what's coming out of her mouth. You can't deny the rock. And their latest album Sexual Harassment truly brings the rock that can not be denied.

The band makes a rare Chicago appearance this Sunday, May 19, at Double Door and you can be sure to see us in the crowd marveling at just how Turbonegro gets away with it.
