When the Beatles’ first album was released we doubt they were wishing that one day they’d be immortalized in corn. And yet, if you were to get an aerial view of the Richardson Adventure Farm that’s what you’d see, as they celebrate the 50th anniversary of that album’s release in their enormous maize maze.

So if you feel like getting away from the city and getting hopelessly lost, direct your GPS to Spring Grove. In addition to hosting the world’s largest corn maze, there are dozens of fall-themed activities to enjoy. If you’d like the holidays to go by as fast as possible, for example, you can zip line through a pumpkin patch and some Christmas trees from their 50-foot observation tower and watch it pass in a blur. You can root for Private Pork Chop or Christina Hoguilera in the live pig races or make the questionable decision to strap yourself into an 11’ ORBiting ball and go rolling haplessly down a hill alone or with a partner.

There are wagon rides, slides, campfire and picnic areas and you can pick up the pumpkins you’ll carve or make into a nice soup while you’re there. General admission is $13 for adults and $10 for children, but rides like the zip line and ORBiting balls have separate associated fees. The maze is not open on Mondays or Tuesdays but every other day of the week in October they stay open until 10 p.m., with the exception of this weekend’s Full Moon Midnight event, when they will allow visitors to stay through midnight. Make a note that while the hours are late, no new admissions are sold in the last two hours to allow for time spent lost in the fields. And hurry, they close for the season on Oct. 27.
