Though the level of violence thankfully did not match the 17 people shot and three people killed in the seven-hour period that started off the weekend, some eight people were shot and one person was killed from Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning, according to the Chicago Tribune.
That makes for at least 25 people shot and four people killed so far this weekend.
Last weekend, more than 40 people were shot, including 5 schoolchildren, and eight people were killed. The weekend before that, 36 people were shot, including 16 people shot that Saturday before noon.
The Chicago Tribune has the details on the most recent fatal shooting, which took place early Sunday morning in Logan Square, on the city's Northwest Side.
The other shootings took place in Back of the Yards, the South Side neighborhood which had shootings earlier this weekend; in West Side neighborhoods like Humboldt Park; and in Albany Park, also on Chicago's Northwest Side.
Shootings also happened in the Bridgeport, Bronzeville, and Chatham neighborhoods, respectively.
