Chicago Had Its Third Earliest Snowfall On Record Today

The city may have only received a light dusting of the white stuff, but what fell from the sky was good enough to notch the third earliest snowfall on record today. This being Chicago, some reactions to the snow, and the state of the weather generally, were naturally more caustic than others:

The only two earlier dates for snowfall are Sept. 25—both in 1928 and 1944—and Sept. 22, in 1995.
The inclement weather, however slight by polar vortex standards, was enough to continue the Chicago area's recent air travel woes. Record cold is also expected for today.
