Who's Ready To Party With Chicagoist This Thursday?
By Lisa White in Arts & Entertainment on Oct 21, 2014 9:10PM
We already are well aware that Chicago knows how to throw a party and have a great time, but boy do we know how to party! When we first mentioned our little 10 year anniversary shindig earlier this month, we expected a few drinks, a cozy group of our friends and readers and a few raffle items to benefit a great cause. Now, just two days out we've had an overwhelming response of RSVPs, some drinks to give away from three different fine beverage purveyors, and a bevy of truly kick-ass raffle items to benefit 826CHI.
Chicago, you've truly outdone yourselves. And we can't wait to celebrate with you on Thursday! So here are some sweet updates before we kick off our shoes and dance to the sweet sounds of Daniel Wade and Matt Roan all night long.
Make sure to arrive early if you want a few drinks on us! Like we said, we've had an overwhelming response from those wanting to partake in beverages from PBR, Sailor Jerry and Monkey Shoulder. We'll be handing out drink tickets to those who RSVP'd before noon on Oct. 22 as they enter the door until we run out. So arrive early if you want some free booze (which should be the general rule in life when attending any party). Arrive early anyways to make sure you get in, and then you'll have the booze to boot! Everyone wins.
Once you get inside, make sure to stop by the raffle table to benefit 826CHI, where we'll have some amazing items you could end up taking home! Want a sneak peak of some of the cool items you'll be able to bid on?
-A private brewery tour for up to 10 guests from Revolution Brewing
-Dinner for two at moto
-Tickets to the Joffrey Ballet
-A full size grill from Sailor Jerry
-A one-year membership to Women & Children First Bookstore
-Concert packages from Empty Bottle, Double Door and Metro
-gifts and certificates from Twisted Scissor, Pete's Barber Shop, Early to Bed, Saki and many more!
Worked up an appetite playing games? Head outside where we'll have three food trucks joining us to serve up their delicious fare. Unfortunately Salsa Truck won't be able to make it but they are sending their friends Yum Dum to serve up some delicious dumplings and baowiches instead (including some gratis treats from the Salsa Truck for fans to enjoy in spite of their absences). DönerMen has the encased meat beat on the lockdown and Beavers Coffee & Donuts will be offering up some late night sweet treats as well. And make sure to flash a smile, photographer Bill Guerriero will be snapping photos throughout the night. You might recognize Bill's work from his frequent contributions to our Around Town galleries and our Flickr Pool.
We're ready to have a damn good time Thursday night and a rough Friday morning. We hope you join us for an evening of music, drinks, games, food and some fun for a great cause. Make sure to RSVP by noon tomorrow, Oct. 22 and we hope to see you there!
