Video: Enjoy A Lap Around The New Maggie Daley Park Skating Ribbon

Fans of ice skating have been all abuzz recently with the opening of the new skating ribbon at the still in-progress Maggie Daley Park. While the full park is still under construction and isn't fully open to the public yet, the skating ribbon debuted in time for much winter fun to be had. It sure beats your regular rink and the downtown view as you glide along on ice isn't too shabby either.

If you haven't gotten a chance to check it out, our friends over at WBEZ linked us to a video where one skater takes you along for the full ride. Some of us on staff are not fans of ice skating, but still find the video below oddly soothing, especially since we don't have to set foot on the ice. While other staffers are frantically grabbing their skates and planning to head over this evening and check it out. See for yourself and enjoy the view.

As a reminder, admission to the park is free and skate rental is $12. Lockers are $1 as well. You can skate during the following hours: Monday through Thursday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (the ribbon will close at 9 p.m. after Jan. 4), and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Maggie Daley Park skating ribbon is located at 337.
