Last year's Riot Fest left quite a mess, and we're not just talking about attendees' shoes. Last year's rain paired with crowds left Humboldt Park with $180,000 worth of damage.

The weather forecast this year sounds more promising. We're starting to see some fall weather. The forecast has been changing but there is a slight chance of rain. It's supposed to continue raining into tonight. And right now (and this could change!) it looks like there's a 60 percent chance of rain that is expected Saturday morning, but it's supposed to clear up by the early afternoon. The high on Saturday will be a brisk 62 degrees, and it will be cloudy. Sunday sounds nearly perfect: It's expected to be sunny and 71 degrees.

There was a hiccup this morning that left attendees waiting in the rain, RedEye reports:

The opening of Riot Fest was delayed by more than an hour and a half Friday morning as workers continued to set up barricades at the festival entrance outside Douglas Park and fest-goers waited in the rain. A huge cheer came from the crowd when the gates finally opened just before 12:30 p.m.

No umbrellas are permitted in Riot Fest, so bring your poncho and some waterproof shoes or something you won't care about completely wrecking. Not that we need to tell Riot Fest attendees how to dress:

But there will be ponchos if you forget!

It doesn't sound like the weather should get too gnarly, but if severe weather does strike Douglas Park and it needs to be evacuated, the Tribune says concertgoers can take shelter in Cinespace studios at 2621 W. 15th Pl., or the Douglas Park Cultural and Community Center, 1401 S. Sacramento Dr.
