Photos: The Otherworldly Light Show Taking Over The Garfield Park Conservatory

The team behind Luminous Field, the dazzling and trippy light show at the Bean in 2012, has created a possibly even more breathtaking and freaky light installation at the Garfield Park Conservatory.

Solarise: a sea of all colors launched this week, and will be on view until Sept. 22, 2016, at several different conservatory greenhouses. Luftwerk, a.k.a. the Chicago-based artists Petra Bachmaier and Sean Gallero, say they want the light installation to reflect the groundbreaking designs of Jens Jensen (the original landscape architect behind the Garfield Park Conservatory), "elevating and highlighting the perception and importance nature plays in society and urban planning."

These other-worldly photos certainly inspired awe in us for the natural beauty and design achievement on display at the conservatory. Check them out at The Garfield Park Conservatory at 300 N. Central Park Ave.

The Conservatory is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday evenings until 8 p.m. and admission is free year round.
