A 22-year-old man was shot in Lakeview early on Tuesday morning near the Belmont CTA Station, the victim told police.
The man was shot in the 1000 block of West Belmont Avenue at around 4:40 a.m., police told Chicagoist. The victim was shot in the buttocks and got himself to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
The victim told police that it was a drive-by but would not elaborate further. Police said they did not receive any calls of shots fired in the area. No one was in custody as of Tuesday morning, and detectives are investigating, police said.
Two men were shot in the same area in early August. That shooting also happened in the early morning hours.
