Man Shot Near Damen Blue Line Station Early Monday Morning

A 23-year-old man was shot while sitting in a car near the Damen Blue Line CTA station early Monday morning, according to police.
The victim was sitting in the rear of a car at 3:29 a.m. in the 2000 block of W Pierce Ave. when he heard shots and felt pain, a police spokesperson told Chicagoist. He suffered a gunshot wound to the right side of his torso and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Police did not have anyone in custody as of Monday morning. Detectives are investigating the shooting.
At least nine other people were wounded by gunfire between Sunday and Monday mornings, according to the Tribune.
