The Shake Shack Empire Is Landing In Wrigleyville In 2019

By Stephen Gossett in Food on Nov 29, 2016 8:21PM

Wrigleyville seems to be getting all the play these days: a fancy-pants boutique hotel, the second location of Big Star, a sports team that achieved something or other of merit, as we recall. Add dangerously addictive upscale-fast burgers and custard shakes to the list: Shake Shack is heading to the neighborhood in 2019.

The latest Chicago outpost of Danny Meyer’s ever-expanding (at least here) favorite will land at the under-construction Addison & Clark mixed-use residential/commercial development, near Wrigley Field, the Tribune reported on Tuesday. The now-closed Goose Island location once occupied the space (3535 N. Clark St.).

Shake Shack already has locations on River North, at the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel and in Skokie. A Fulton Market restaurant is slated to open next year.

No word yet on whether or not a goat burger will be on the menu, or if inhabitants of the to-be-built residential portion can order room service.
