Ask Chicagoist,
Chicagoist Podcast 4/13 - An Audio "Ask Chicagoist"
In this week's podcast, we directly address a question that reader Matt wrote to ask us about. Since we don't have the extensive research abilities of former Chicagoista Thales on hand, nor her Ask Chicagoist series, we figured we'd take on the mantle of information dispersement, and get to the bottom of this:
Ask Chicagoist: How Do the Hours of Sunlight in a Day Change?
Do the hours of sunlight each day change in a linear way (the same amount each time each day) or a exponential/other kind of way? In other words, when the hours of sunlight are increasing, does every day get like 3 minutes longer, or do the first few days only get longer by a minute and then towards June every day gets longer by 15 minutes? Does that make sense? Does everyone else know the answer to this/is this totally common knowledge, and I just missed that day?
Ask Chicagoist: Green Spas?
Are there any spas near Chicago that specialize in green/non-toxic spa treatments? I'm especially interested in one that might offer pre- or post-natal treatments for an environmentally conscious new mommy, but any non-toxic services would be great!
Ask Chicagoist: Who Has Right-Of-Way?
I recently got into an argument with my boss about who has the "right of way" on the road - bicyclists or motorists. While I am not advocating bicyclists to have blatant disregard for motorists, I subscribe to the idea that the slowest mode of transportation should always have the right of way - i.e. cars yield to bikes, bikes yield to pedestrians. My boss says cars have the right of way. What do you say?
Ask Chicagoist: How Old Is Too Old?
How big an age difference is too big an age difference when it comes to dating? At what point does it go from "hey, he/she's responsible and mature!" to "hey...if he/she's so responsible and mature...why are they pursuing someone, say, eleven years younger?"
Eating In: Fish Stew
A pound and a half filet of cod in the freezer and all out of ideas for what to do with it. Sure, we could grill it or pan fry it, or even bake it, but we've done all those things before. They're all delicious, but not new or exciting. And then along to the rescue comes Elise Bauer at one of our favorite food blogs Simply Recipes. For Lent Elise reposted a recipe for her dad's fish stew. Intrigued? Yes, we were.
