Runners Brave the Snow for the Shamrock Shuffle
Over 30,000 registered, but it was 13,714 brave souls who earned our respect downtown yesterday as they trudged through Mother Nature's early spring snow (a slushy, heavy one at that!) as part of the 30th Annual Shamrock Shuffle. The 8K (or 4.97 mile) race took place yesterday morning and, according to the race's website, here were the Top 5 finishers:
Oak Lawn's National Night Out Sounds Awesome
Oak Lawn is gearing up for its local version of the annual National Night Out block party, but hold the beer and barbeque. In lieu of a typical neighborhood bash, this southwest suburb is opening up its police and fire stations and letting the public play with all their big-boy toys.
