It'd Be A Shame If You Didn't Win

Honestly, the last time The Lemonheads were in town they blew us away. Evan Dando carries an unfair reputation of putting on shambolic shows, and while that may have been true in the past, we've never seen that side of him. Sure, on-stage he can come across as a pleasantly buzzed good-time dude between songs, but once the music starts, he's locked into each and every song, injecting a ruggedness into his sweet pop tunes.
Dando and his crew (though we're honestly not sure who is in the touring version of the band this time around) are coming though town next week, supporting the re-issue of the classic and near-perfect album It's A Shame About Ray. It's hard to convey just how big this album was in a certain scene, but suffice to say that the summer of '92's college campus soundtrack had a whole lot of "Alison's Starting To Happen" and Sassy moved a whole bunch of magazine's based on Dando's relationship advice.
We've got a pair of tickets to give away to a lucky Chicagoist reader so you can have your own chance to relive the glory days of college rock before it was called alternative. Enter for your chance to win after the jump.
The Lemonheads play The Abbey next Thursday, May 1, 18+, tickets are still available
