Believe It Or Not: Indictment for G-Rod?

Maybe we don't want to get our hopes up yet. Maybe we're a little too cynical. Or maybe we're just a little hesitant to put a lot of stock in one unattributed story coming out of a struggling news group, whose biggest recent story has been the moving of their own studios to Daley Plaza.* So we're not exactly rushing to judgement on this one. But if this is for real, it's a hell of a scoop for CBS-2. (You'll allow us our Feder-esque moment of speculation.)
Here's what they're saying: they have someone inside a group of investigators saying they have enough evidence to indict Governor Blagojevich on fraud and conspiracy charges. But they don't make the call; that decision is up to U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald and the U.S. Justice Department. Other sources say "no, nothing's going to happen." So...take that as you will.
We're not trying to disparage the reporters at CBS2 - Mike Flannery and Pam Zekman, for example, on the political beat are excellent at what they do - but we'll wait to see if this pans out. Is Public Official A nervous? It's likely. Is Pat Quinn updating his resume anyway? Probably. Are you reviewing your predictions on our Blago "Death" Pool? You should be.
*(Before that, it was the Amy Jacobsen debacle. Which...was barely news anyways.)
