Chicago 2016: Lost in Translation

On Friday we looked at Chicago 2016's new slogan, "Let Friendship Shine," and scratched our heads about why the change so close to the final IOC vote. Well, after a few days of wondering, it seems we have our answer. It would appear the previous slogan, "Stir Your Soul," had a hard time passing the test when it came time to translate. According to a Chicago 2016 spokesperson, "Stir Your Soul" can be loosely translated as "stir your insides" in various languages. The move comes three weeks before the International Olympic Committee plans to inspect our fair city in its bid for the Olympics. [ABC7]
