  • Plainfield police have announced new developments in the Lisa Stebic case, and while they're not doling out any details, they are saying that they "shed additional light on what happened to Lisa." Stebic disappeared nearly 2 years ago.
  • The Cook County Sheriff's Office is continuing their strong stand to fight prostitution -- besides suing Craigslist, they've also brought in counselors to help women quit the business and get off the streets.

  • A 20-year-old Hoffman Estates man was arrested this morning after he stabbed to death an 18-year-old girl, her father, and her grandmother in their home. Police are not giving a motive, but they are saying it was domestic related.
  • A man found his own silver lining in all the vacant foreclosed homes around the area, and moved into an empty mansion in Sugar Grove for over 8 months, even bringing in living room furniture and two large televisions. Oddly enough, he wasn't arrested for trespassing, but for damage to government property -- he had cut off the locks the village had put on the home's water meter.
  • The family of Tyler Fabeck, who was struck and killed on his bicycle at Western and Logan last year, are planning a memorial on the anniversary of his death April 20 to raise awareness about cycling safety.
