Wherein we collect a few of the funnier goings-on about town.
- Tonight is the sixth installment of Schubas’ monthly comedy series, Laugh it Up, Kid. Produced by Bradley LaBree, LIUK is the rock club’s first main stage stand-up showcase series that focuses on local talent.
TONIGHT, Schubas Tavern, 3159 N. Southport, 9 p.m., $5 - ‘Tis the season for alfresco comedy, and no one does it better than Brian Babylon at the Bronzeville Coffeehouse Comedy Show, coincidentally the only spot to see al fresco comedy in the city! This long-running bimonthly showcase features a diverse rotation of comics from all over the city. Bring a bottle of wine and get there early; the patio fills up bien rĂ¡pido.
Wednesday, June 30, Bronzeville Coffeehouse, 528 E. 43rd St., 7:30 p.m., FREE - Musical comedy more up your alley? Catch the last night of Fourplay, at Studio BE. This original musical, written by Jamie Campbell and Amanda Murphy, explores the loves, family, and lives of four 30-something Chicagoans. Tickets go quickly; snag yours now.
Wednesday, June 30, Studio BE, 3110 N. Sheffield Ave., 8 p.m., $10 - Thursday is the big Everything is Terrible show and tour kick-off at the Music Box. A night of absurdity, giant robots, over-the-top choreographed musicals, and the screening of EIT’s 2Everything2Terrible2: Tokyo Drift, is sure to shock and awww.
