Raccoon Menace Continues

2010_08_02_raccoon.jpg The Chicagoland area continues to fall prey to a masked menace in 2010. First they grew, then they attacked our homes. Now, they're attacking our pets. Kathleen Woods of Palos Hills was recently out for an evening stroll with her service dog when a pack of vicious, rabid raccoons attacked her and her canine companion. CBS 2 relates the latest tale of fiendery:

Three large raccoons weighing 35 pounds each emerged from a storm drain in the curb and knocked [Woods] down, then bit her repeatedly on the legs, hand and buttocks. Her dog also was bitten, she said. "They wouldn't stop," she said. "I was laying down screaming, I couldn't get back up."

Both Woods and her dog are okay and recovering, which includes rabies shots. Clearly, this is why we're now being hunted by vicious raccoons. They will have their vengeance and it will taste like our flesh.
