Do This: Purple Asparagus "Corks and Crayons" Fundraiser

2010_08_corks_crayons.jpg Purple Asparagus, the non-profit dedicated to promoting healthy eating for children at home and school, is hosting their sixth annual "Corks and Crayons" fundraiser this Sunday afternoon at Uncommon Ground Edgewater.

In addition to a tasting of the full Uncommon Ground Menu, beer, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, a mini farmers market will be set up courtesy of Harvest Moon Farms; a storybus for the kids courtesy of the Dolores Kohl Education Foundation; a raffle and silent auction for gourmet snacks, vacation packages and more; and music from Old Town School of Folk staff. Uncommon Ground will also host tours of its rooftop garden.

Additionally, an online auction is now up and running with even more packages including a CSA share from Simply Wisconsin and a 6-course dinner for six from Monogramme Events and Catering.
