Oak Brook Police Chief: Fire Drew Peterson's Son

By Chuck Sudo in News on Oct 21, 2010 9:00PM

While Drew Peterson is doing whatever in Will County Jail — probably writing another letter for Michael Sneed to run as a column — Oak Brook police chief Thomas Sheahan has filed charges with the village police and fire commission to have Peterson's son, Stephen Peterson, removed from the force.

Sheahan filed the paperwork earlier this week stating Stephen Peterson should be fired for holding on to three weapons for his father following the disappearance of Drew Peterson's wife Stacy in 2007. The gun charges against D-Pete were later dropped, but Sheahan contends in the filing that Stephen Peterson should have turned over the weapons immediately. Stephen Peterson testified that his father wanted him to hold onto the weapons for several days because Drew Peterson didn't want them seized by investigator's looking into Stacy Peterson's disappearance.

Sheahan also stated in the filing that he wants Stephen Peterson, who is currently on a paid suspension from the force, suspended without pay until disciplinary proceedings are resolved.
