Sandberg, Cubs Part Ways
The Cubs liked him, just not in that way. After being passed up for their managerial job, Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg is leaving the organization to pursue possible Big League opportunities elsewhere rather than returning to manage the Triple-A Iowa farm team. With Joey Cora passed over for the Milwaukee gig, there don't appear to be any vacancies on Ozzie Guillen's White Sox staff. A few teams are still looking for manager... how do Pittsburgh, New York or Miami sound, Ryno?

Rose Stands Up "The Good Wife"
We're curious to hear the rest of the story about why Bulls star point guard Derrick Rose stood up the TV show "The Good Wife" on Tuesday. He agreed to appear in a cameo role on an episode of the CBS drama that's set in Chicago. When a car arrived to take Rose to the airport for his flight to New York, where the show's actually filmed, Rose refused to come out of his house. No explanation was given at the Bulls Wednesday practice. We're guessing a Skittles-induced Halloween candy sugar coma.

Update: Rose addressed the incident today, claiming he simply overslept.

Boozer Progressing
Bulls power forward Carlos Boozer hit an important milestone in his recovery from a broken hand suffered during a fall in his home during training camp. On Tuesday, Boozer had the pins and hard cast removed and on Wednesday he began rehabbing his injured hand as well as conditioning. No basketball related activities just yet, but Boozer's targeting a Thanksgiving return to the line-up.
