Bernard Williams (left) is charged with the murder of Chicago Police officer David Blake.
Police arrested 18-year-old Bernard Williams yesterday in connection with the murder of Chicago police officer David Blake. Blae was found dead in his SUV on the 2900 block of West Seipp on the Souwhtwest side last month.

Police allege Williams was motivated to kill Blake to gain access to the officer's gun collection, which, according to the Sun-Times, was an extensive array of registered and unregistered weapons. According to police, Williams, who lived with Blake for a time, lured Blake to where he was murdered by arranging a meeting in which Williams suggested moving in with the SWAT officer on a permanent basis.

When police found Blake's body, the windows were rolled up in his SUV, a cigarette was dangling from his mouth and he still had his gun and wallet on him, indicating that he knew the shooter and that the killer fired the shots from inside. But when Williams went to Blake's home to steal the guns, police were already on the scene.

POlice Superintendent Jody Weis will hold a press conference this morning to discuss the case.
