Free Pizza Happy Hour at The Florentine

With tasty pizza deals on the mind this week, we’ve got another one to add to the list: The Florentine. While fine dining frequenters may know The Florentine as an elegant location for seasonal Italian cuisine, the happy hour deal is one not to miss.
Located in the JW Marriott Hotel, The Florentine mirrors the elegant décor of the hotel with dark, intimate booths next to open and spacious dining areas. The menu, created by executive chef Todd Stein (formerly of Cibo Matto) is a mix of Italian imported pastas, cheese and meats as well as ingredients from local and organic farms.
With a wall of wines welcoming diners, the drink list offers a wide selection of red and white Italian and American wines, in addition to Italian inspired cocktails like the traditionally simple Bellini, to an updated cosmo made with raspberry vodka, Cointreau, cranberry, lime and a Serrano chili.
The happy hour deal at The Florentine is a surprisingly lesser known deal: a free pizza with each drink purchase. Available Mondays through Fridays from 4 - 6 p.m. happy hour goers are offered a complimentary pizza from their menu with each drink purchase. All pizzas are hand-crafted and baked in a wood-fired pizza oven with options like the classic margherita, a mushroom pizza made with both Crimini and Oyster mushrooms and a deliciously salty prosciutto pizza topped with smoked mozzarella, arugula and, of course, Italian prosciutto.
Favorite amongst these is the sausage pizza, while seemingly simple in name, is made with abundant flavor. This simply constructed pizza made with Harvati cheese and cured tomato sauce is sprinkled with house-made sausage alongside sweet and tart pickled fennel, bringing out the juicy flavors of the specialty sausage. It’s a flavorful pizza not to be missed for either the happy hour meal or regular dining hours.
